Robert Hammon Lonsberry, Robbie to the rest of the world, joined the Lonsberry family at 7:35 a.m. Sun., July 27. He weighed in at 8 lb, 8 oz and was 20 3/4 in. (with a 14" head...ouch.) We're all doing great...at least as great as can be expected with a 3.5-year-old, 18-month-old and a newborn at home. Fortunatley, so far, he likes to sleep...excpet between about 3 a.m. and 5 a.m., but I can't complain too much.
My labor was unusual. It started at 1 a.m. with contractions 5 minutes apart. It ended with him born 6.5 hours later with my contractions never coming more than 5 minutes apart. I actually had to push him out without a contraction. Any woman reading this who has given birth or is thinking about giving birth...contractions are useful. I joked a few hours in to my rather non-existent labor that I'd like an epidural. My midwife, Ann Judkins, quipped back, "Amanda, they usually give those to women having contractions."
All's well that ends well.
My sister is here taking care of us for the week and we are very grateful for Cinder-Mary-ella's efforts. We'll post more pictures later.

He does look like a Robbie. (and like a Darcy) Congratulations! Labor's overrated, right? -Reb
Congratulations Lonsberrys! He's a cutie. That outfit is adorable, too. Can't believe he was born on schedule! That takes talent. :)
I don't envy the labor, though. Can't imagine what all you went through. Amanda, you are amazing!
Congrats!
