O soup divine!

In stalking a friend's blog recently, I stumbled upon this soup recipe. It might be one of the best things I've ever made. My kids actually ate it (sort of, which is an improvement over not at all.) and my husband said (and this is a high compliment) "Let's keep that soup in the line-up." Easy and delicious... Oh, just as a note, I used celery leaves instead of parsley, because, well, we got a full foot or more of snow today and I did not have the means to go get fresh parsley.

Hey Amanda,

Do you know if it this soup freezes well?

Oh - here's a turkey sausage (breakfast) recipe, if you ever want sausage, but are snowed in without it:

1# ground turkey (ground pork probably works, too.)
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sage
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. cayenne (or red pepper flakes, to taste)

Cheers!

Hi Julie! I have no idea if this freezes well. We ate it all up! :) It has cream in it, so you tell me...does that freeze? And thanks for the sausage recipe. We (and by we I mean, Bob) may slaugther our own deer next year instead of having it processed. However, I like the venison as sausage rather than steak. This could be useful...thanks!

Thanks for the input! I'm in a soup making/freezing mode, but haven't tried freezing cream based ones yet (tried potatoes, and that didn't work too well.) I've read different things, so I might take a chance. Yeah, Bill and I both love the sausage recipe. Can't recall where I got it from. I think the spices are really the trick to it, not so much the meat? So much better for you than the processed stuff at the store! Best wishes for doing your own deer. Our neighbors used to do it all the time, but I haven't a clue as to how! :)
